MARY WYAK JOHNSON
Vice President | Market Research| Developer
Mary’s 20-year corporate career began as a marketing research librarian
and evolved into corporate special events planner, including all duties related
to trade show exhibition logistics, planning and execution. In 1993 she launched
The Finished Touch, a faux finishing design studio specializing in custom painted
furniture, children’s furniture and interiors. Her unique skills brought
her national attention as one of Yahoo Magazines’ Best of the Web for her
designs and web-based business model. In addition to her creative contributions,
she currently serves as market researcher and co-developer for all of Healthvues’ titles.
Mary holds an interior design degree from Syracuse University (1989).
A patient struggling with infertility, she initiated and hosted
Crossroads of Infertility, a peer support group for patients of
the CNY Fertility Center in Syracuse, NY. Highly successful in
helping many couples and individuals through the emotional process,
the group still exists today as Circle of Hope, coordinated internally
by the Center.
Healthvues was borne out of the personal struggles with infertility
that Mary and Andrew experienced. At the time, no comprehensive
and approachable information existed on the myriad causes,
treatments and risks associated with fertility treatments, let
alone the extreme emotional rollercoaster that is part and parcel
with infertility and loss. The Johnsons decided to pool their talents
to produce empathetic, comprehensive and honest educational interactive
programs to help infertility patients. This approach to a complex
medical and emotion condition has been expanded to other topics
as Healthvues has grown in scope and service. |
